"the fruit has enough heft and weight to rise above the oak that encases it, and drives the wine across the mouth – powered by blackberries, cocoa, cassis, jubes and gentle spice. Compelling drinking for the money. Big bang for buck," James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion
Mr. Mick Wines is named after the late K.H. (Mr. Mick) Knappstein, an Australian winemaking legend and Tim Adams’ mentor and friend. Tim and his wife Pam purchased the historic site in the township of Clare in late 2010 and set about reinvigorating the picturesque property into a successful winery and Clare tourist attraction.
Tim aims to continue Mr. Mick’s philosophy of making “affordable wines for everyone to enjoy”.
This wine is graceful yet flavoursome, with lifted violet and blueberry fruit aromas on the nose with nuances of vanilla oak flavour. The palate is rounded and medium bodied with dark cherry and ripe raspberries with a hint of herb and spice, with silky tannins on the finish.

Purchased Mr Mick Shiraz and Tim Adam’s Semillon- both excellent authentic Australian wines delivered efficiently and without any issues
MR MICK IS JUST A SHADE LESS IMPRESSIVE THAN THE CLASSIC CLARE MADE UNDER THE LEASINGHAM LABEL MANY YEARS AGO, BUT IT IS GETTING CLOSE AND IS INDEED A VERY TASTY WINE. THIS IS MY SECOND ORDER OF THE 2018 AND NOT LIKELY TO BE MY LAST.
DELIVERY AND ALL COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE AUSTRALIAN WINE CENTRE ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON.
Am a fan of Tim Adams wine and this one is delicious. Ordering was easy and delivery impressive.
This wine has depth and finesse, as one would expect from the Tim Adams stable. Great value for money, and a good personalised service from the Australian Wine Centre.
I think this is a rather good Shiraz; certainly for the price. Maybe I’m biased because a wine named after someone significant in Australian wine always makes me sympathetic. However, leaving aside any bias based on emotion, this is a really good wine. Very much a Shiraz, with a definite connection with the grape, but, unlike some, smooth with a distinct berry taste. Fortunately, I have some bottles still to drink so I’ll see how it is in a few months. But buy now, is my tip.
