After enjoying a fabulous South Australia wine tasting at the Primo estate what joy to find these wines in the UK.
Lovely colour ,deep rich, with a long after taste .Made by a long established wine maker.
This is a real mouthful of fruity, rich Australian sunshine made by a great wine winemaker.
One of the best Shiraz' from the Bendigo Region, This wine was first experienced whilst working in the town. Most other wineries in this area are more expensive for their Shiraz, but this is an excellent example of the region.
I know that i shall enjoy a great selection and excellent value. Thanks to all at the Australian Wine Centre
Reliable as ever this 2016 is a true example of type from Tim Adams.
Not as complex as some vintages but a great drink and excellent value for money
Primo Estate - Virginia Vineyard Shiraz Cabernet Merlot 2018. Beautiful fruity red, with enough spice and complexity to make a great companion for lamb or beef. Although I had my 1st bottle with a spicy Thai and it even worked well with that! Easy drinking, good value. Will order again..
No issues at all. Very efficient and easy to deal with. They even respond to emails within 24 hrs which is what good service looks like.
Lovely Aussie red which is a perfect wine to go with food. Joe Grillo is a really talented winemaker who never fails to hit the spot. A great value wine.
It has been a few years since I visited Willows Vineyard and it was a pleasure to drink their wine again. This is a big, fruity Shiraz with plenty of tannin. It will keep for many a year, although was drinking well now.
Excellent value for money.
Sampled this wine in Australia some years ago and since had tried a number of it’s vintages all of which have proved to be consistently excellent.
Discovered this wine some years ago when in Australia and every vintage l have purchased has proved excellent.
Some years Mclaren Vale is the best wine region in Australia and other years it is not. In my view this very drinkable wine is not from a 5* year for McClaren Vale and so I would suggest that if you have not bought either their Barossa or McClaren Vale you try the 2017 Barossa version in the first place. None-the-less I guess that many would enjoy this wine so your choice.
It is nice to be able to write a review of a wine you have enjoyed. As I bought a case of 12 bottles, so far it has been enjoyed several times. The wine has a nice "nose" and the flavour is full but fruity and very flavoursome. Basically nothing to dislike and much to enjoy. Lets be clear this is a review of the Barossa Dandelion Shiraz (not the Mclaren Vale).
The Australian Wine Centre has plenty to choose from and having had this luscious wine in a Super Reds box, we simply had to buy more. It’s not inexpensive but when the 10% off discount was available, it just made sense to buy some. Dark ruby red, really punchy on fruit but with huge depth, low tannins and a lovely (I believe chefs use this for food) mouthfeel. It has rapidly become a favourite in this house.
I find this a great small scale specialist wine retailer run by people who are great to deal with - I would almost say nicer than their wines which in many ways once you have tasted their wines might be difficult to believe but you will find out if you give their wines a try. Give their quarterly Super 12 wines a go and do try their Eldredge wines if you want a single producer recommendation. Aussie wines aren't the most expensive on the planet but probable £ for £ are the best value..
But wow. I was recommended a previous wine, but wanted to expand my knowledge of Australian wines. This wine exceeded my expectations. Very full bodied and delicious
Slightly lighter style than the BiH Shiraz, full of fruit and flavour, not cheap but well worth the price. I’ll be getting more as soon as it’s available.
