Incredibly full bodied and excellent wine from Coonawarra, the home of cabernet sauvignon in Australia. 2015 was a great year but beware, it really is 15.5% alcohol!
New wine to us. We are Shiraz & Cab Sav fans preferring these grapes to merlots. We found the wine lived up to its description and provides a good accompaniment to food you are enjoying, or on its own. Happy to have it in my wine rack. Offers good value at the price I paid for a dozen bottles.
A great wine at the price, drinking very well now. Big and soft and full of fruit.
Made by Primo Estate so it is a pretty safe bet before you even open the bottle. The only downside is its price which I feel is a bit on the high side. Still a great drink though.
We first tasted that fabulous wine on a visit to the Primo Estate when we were on holidays in South Australia in 2018. Immediately attracted to that beautifull wine. Delighted to discover that we can now order it online back home in Scotland thanks to the Australian Wine Centre. That's our Christmas dinner wine sorted. Briliant.
Full bodied, full of flavour and highly enjoyable. Exactly, what a red wine should be.
This is drinking beautifully, even now in its youth. No excess oak - fresh fruit with a little subtlety (custard?). A wine from a producer at the top of their game. We will certainly buy this again.
From the moment you open the bottle it gives of a lovely perfumed aroma and once tasted you can tell it has a full bodied flavour with much character. Definitely no washed out shrinking violet. Well worth a try. This review would equally apply to the Primo Il Briccone 2018 with the added advantage that the Il Briccone is somewhat cheaper. This is my view of these current 2018 Primo wines. Why don't you try them both and see what you think. They certainly won't disappoint.
....but better still if you can keep it a couple more years. The 2014 is on the go now and is a little less full-bodied but smoother. Brilliant quality for the price.
Decanted for two hours & produced smooth tasting wine with overtones of red berries/cherries. Shared with neighbours who voted it the best wine of the night.(Social distancing observed!)
2015 is a beautiful shiraz full of dark fruit and a slightly peppery finish. Not too sweet either and goes down rather too easily.
A gorgeous full bodied mouthful of Barossa fruit, drinking beautifully now but good for a few more years.
As always with Tim, great wine at great value . Nice strong taste , full-bodied -great with a nice steak and salad . recommended
Must be the best ratio of quality/price on the market - and you can keep it for up to 10 more years (if you can!)
It is so delicious. Slips down so easily that it is hard not to finish the bottle rather quickly!
This is a lovely Shiraz at a great price point. Screwtop which will keep it fresh for a couple of evenings through the week. Reliable.
Excellent example of what a good Shiraz should be. Bursting with dark fruits with a reasonably good length to it. Excellent with any roast meats. If you can get it!
We discovered this wine at an Italian restaurant in St Kilda a few years ago, we could not find this wine or this blend on return to the UK and resolved to visit the winery on a future trip.
We did this 3 years ago now and love nearly all the Primo range, we had a very personal tasting but no Il Briccone left at our visit! The lovely Judy at Primo then informed us about their agent in the UK - the Australian Wine Centre, so we came home and immediately ordered some. We have not been out of stock since.
I’m no expert but I would describe this as a bold ‘in your face’ kind of red but with lots of lush fruit and light on the tannins. It’s our go to red wine if we’re undecided of an evening and pairs beautifully with all Italian food.
We also love the Primo Shale Stone as a stand alone Shiraz and the Virginia Vineyards is a great value red as well.
Wow, am simply a must try wine.
I absolutely recommend this wine, fantastic
Tim Adams Riesling has been one of my favourite wines for several years now. It demonstrates how a beautiful tasting and satisfying wine doesn't have to be high in alcohol - this Riesling usually varies between 11% and 11.1/2% volume. This was my first purchase direct from Tim Adams and it won't be my last! The delivery was speedy and I was kept informed of progress throughout. I also benefited from a much appreciated 10% discount. My thanks to both Craig and Jackie for there efficient service.
