Willows Vineyard Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

This is a great Barossa Cabernet. The Willow's Cabernet vines are planted near to the banks of the North Para River, dotted by gum trees, as it winds it way through the Scholz vineyards. So, it is no surprise to find eucalyptus aromas along with the more classic Cabernet characters on the nose with this wine. The French would call this "terroir", but Peter Scholz insists that this is how it's always been down in that part of the vineyard.

Bowen Estate Coonawarra Shiraz 2018

The alluring 'fruit cake' juiciness of Shiraz is ever present in this wine. It aids this wine helping with extra depth and structure on the palate complimenting the luscious round fruit flavours naturally abundant in Shiraz. The meshing together of the focused American oak tannins, support the abundant layers of dark fruit and chocolate flavours on the palate.

Heritage Vintage Barossa Shiraz 2017

Steve Hoff has been producing great wine at his tiny Marananga winery for over 30 years. This rich, flavoursome Shiraz was produced using Shiraz grown at Marananga and Greenock on the Western edges of the Barossa Valley, both areas renowned for producing quality Shiraz grapes. The wine has intense colour, showing loads of syrupy blackberry & spice on the nose. The palate is full-bodied, with toasty oak & sweet fruit in good harmony. Twelve months maturation in American oak barriques has added a subtle depth to the varietal characters. Already drinking beautifully, this wine will reward with further cellaring over the next decade.

Primo Estate Shale Stone McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018

95 points. From the McMurtrie Vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale and the Angel Gully Vineyard in Clarendon, crushed direct to open fermenters, matured in French and American oak (40% new) for 15 months. Waves of spice, dark chocolate, black cherry and plum fill the bouquet and palate, the oak important but not OTT." James Halliday
This brilliant Shiraz marries the classic richness of Joe's McMurtrie Rd vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale with the perfume and mineral texture of the Shiraz growing in the shale stone of Joe's higher altitude Clarendon vineyard, which brings balance and depth to the layered fruit and spice. This is a wine that is both rich and savoury with a long, silky finish - fabulous now or stick it in the cellar for 8+ years.

WHITES

2018 Robert Oatley Margaret River Signature Chardonnay

Premium parcels of grapes were specially selected from a range of sites across the Margaret River region, from Karridale in the south through to Wilyabrup in the north, to create a well balanced, medium weight style in the citrus mould. Matured for a short time in a variety of French oak barriques, twenty per cent new. We deliberately avoided the traditional secondary malolactic fermentation in order to retain the wine’s long fine acidity. Enjoy now to 2023.

2020 Shaw+Smith Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc

Marking the 28th vintage of this wine, this has a distinct pink grapefruit flavour profile, mid-palate weight and texture and a fine acidity. Bright and aromatic, it has become known as a benchmark for Adelaide Hills and Australian Sauvignon Blanc.
