"94 points. 61% malbec, 39% petit verdot. An arresting colour in the glass, bright deep crimson right to the edge. The bouquet is like a melange of wild vine and forest berries with raspberry, mulberry and redcurrant amongst them, a trace of perfume drifting in the background. Juicy and exuberant in the mouth, the red fruit flavours and youthfully grippy tannin vying for attention." James Halliday
The 2018 Cullen Red Moon is a blend of 61% Malbec and 39% Petit Verdot, grown on their Mangan Vineyard.
The colour is deep red with purple tinges. There are aromas of plums, pomegranate and mulberries. The palate is medium bodied with dark cherries, blueberries and savoury notes on the finish, with Malbec plushness and Pertit Verdot's drive and mineralogy. Well-balanced acidity is backed by fine grained tannins and a long, savoury finish.
