The Primo Estate Sampler Case
One bottle each of:
2020 Primo Estate La Biondina
An absolutely delicious glass of wine, with herby, passionfruit aromas on the nose, while the palate has lashings of gorgeous tropical fruit: with pineapple, passionfruit and guava to the fore. These flavours are cool, juicy and very long, while it's lively finish is crisp and dry.
2018 Virginia Vineyards Shiraz Cabernet Merlot
The 2018 Virginia Vineyards is a proven blend of Shiraz (61%), Cabernet Sauvignon(32%) and Merlot(7%), the style is harmonious and mouth filling. Following blending, the wine was aged in older American and French oak barrels to marry the components and impart a mellow, lingering oak character. It's a deep, rich, warm-hearted wine, with luscious flavours and a long, velvety finish.
2019 Primo Estate Merlesco
Merlesco is a deliciously uncomplicated, juicy and fresh ‘little Merlot’. Bursting with the aromas of fresh blackberry, blueberry and cherry fruit. This is a wine to be drunk young and fresh; the perfect summer red.
2019 Primo Estate Il Briccone Shiraz Sangiovese
Rich Aussie Shiraz meets the cherry fruit and savoury finish of Sangiovese. A blend of 85% Shiraz and 15% Sangiovese, this is a full bodied red with plum, pepper and spice characters. The Sangiovese gives a burst of refreshing cherry fruit and a savoury finish. Spicy and elegant it is a stunning wine that will improve in the bottle for at least 5 years.
2018 Primo Estate Shale Stone Shiraz
This brilliant Shiraz marries the classic richness of Joe's McMurtrie Rd vineyard in the heart of McLaren Vale with the perfume and mineral texture of the Shiraz growing in the shale stone of Joe's higher altitude Clarendon vineyard, which brings balance and depth to the layered fruit and spice. This is a wine that is both rich and savoury with a long, silky finish - fabulous now or stick it in the cellar for 8+ years.
2018 Primo Estate Zamberlan Cabernet Sangiovese
This wine is produced using the Italian ripasso technique, where newly fermented young Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon is pumped over the dried grape skins from the JOSEPH Moda for additional fermentation. The wine is then pressed and barrel aged. The end result is a full bodied and rich red with succulent cassis fruit notes over chocolate and tobacco. The Sangiovese gives the wine fine acid and a savoury finish with cherry fruit characters.
After enjoying a fabulous South Australia wine tasting at the Primo estate what joy to find these wines in the UK.
