ALL REDS
Three bottles each of:
Tim Adams Schaefer Shiraz 2015
The Schaefer Shiraz was crafted from specially selected grapes produced on a single vineyard originally planted in the 1960s. The dry grown grapes yield between one and two tonnes per acre, producing fruit with elegance and rich fruit flavours.
Twenty four months in new French oak provides perfume, spice and balance to the wine, which is dominated by aromas and flavours of dark red cherries, plums and red berries.
Heartland Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2018
The wine is a dense midnight black colour with a dark purple black tinged hue. Aromas of fresh dark plum, red liquorice and dark cherries overlay spicy vanillin cedar and mint. Medium to full in body, flavours of ripe plum and red liquorice subtlety laced with mint have an undercurrent of earth, spicy vanillin cedar and pepper. The finish has fine grained tannins with a juicy medium length aftertaste.
Frankland Estate Rocky Gully Shiraz 2017
“93 points. It’s supple. It’s juicy. It’s savoury. It hits the spot. What’s more, it’s laced with all the flavour and depth expected from this producer. There’s pepper, eucalypt, spice, brightness of fruit, neatly appointed tannins and a fine thread of acidity holding everything in balance. And a bargain to boot.” James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
Heartland Spice Trader Shiraz Cabernet 2017
This is an intense glass of juicy and delicious red. A burst of dark primary fruit hits the palate with a compote of blueberries, blackberries and currants. There are waves of spice, fresh spearmint and dried herbs, which cushioned by soft tannins providing a plush palate with a hint of Christmas spice on the finish.
