The AWC Christmas Reds Case 6x75cl
1 bottle each of:
Tim Adams Cabernet Malbec 2016
“95 points. Terrific value." James Halliday's Australian Wine Guide
Deep red-purple in colour with rich nose of cassis and red berries with big spicy notes complementing the medley of aromas. The palate is textured and mouth watering with great firmness and grip from the cabernet and complexity from the Malbec, contributing violet, mulberry, added texture and richness. It’s very, very approachable now and will gain character and further complexity over the next 10 years or so.
Eldredge Blue Chip Shiraz 2017
"This is how the great Barossa Shirazes used to taste" Oz Clarke
The colour is dark brick red with purple hues. The aromas are of spicy dark berry fruits with just a hint of toasty vanillan oak. The full-flavoured palate is awash with flavours of plums and black fruits, enhanced by silky fine grain tannins; the finish is rich and smooth. It is drinking beautifully now and will cellar well for a decade.
Heartland Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2018
Ben Glaetzer has created a cool climate wine that has great approachability with subtle raspberry and pepper berry notes up front that meld through the palate and add oak and more warming cinnamon spices with a great and unexpected length.
Rolf Binder Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
“93 points" James Halliday Wine Companion 2020
A rich deep purple colour. Enticing aromas of sweet black currants, blackberry, and a hint of chocolate. The palate is ripe and concentrated with a wall of very fine, drying tannins. The hallmark varietal black berry fruits fill the mouth evenly, with hints of subtle herb notes of clove and tomato leaf, adding interest and complexity. Shows long persistence of flavour.
Dandelion Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 2018
“92 points” James Halliday Wine Companion 2020
The Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz is produced utilising fruit from an old vine Barossa vineyard. Aromas of lifted blue fruits, blood brambles, dark chocolate, plums, ripe blackberries and Christmas-like spice flow out of the glass. Generous mouth filling blackberries, raspberries and plums cover the palate with lashings of sweet spice. Firm, but fine, tannins and great length.
Primo Estate Zamberlan Cabernet Sangiovese 2018
An 86/14% blend uses the Italian ripasso technique: newly fermented sangiovese and cabernet are pumped over dried gapes skins of the Primo Joseph Moda. A full bodied and rich red with succulent cassis fruit notes over chocolate and tobacco. The Sangiovese gives the wine a savoury finish with a burst of cherry fruit character. Incredibly intense and complex.
Great! I ordered it because I have previously tried all the bottles in it. All good wines and good value for my hard earned! Highly recommended. Haven't consumed it all yet, will undoubtedly over Christmas, I'll pour it out to any family & friends (Covid Regs allowing) with confidence, small glasses because I want to drink it too.
