WILLOWS VOTED BAROSSA WINE MAKER OF THE YEAR
Jack Scholz, the seventh generation winemaker at the Willows Vineyard was named Barossa Winemaker of the Year at the official launch of the 2023 vintage last Sunday. This follows on from the Willows Vineyard Shiraz winning 5 trophies including Best in Show at the 2022 Barossa Wine Show.
I don’t want to sound like a scratched record, but we have been highlighting the Willows wines as the best value wines coming out of Barossa for most of the 30 odd years we have been shipping them.
As Oz Clarke remarked several years ago: “You just never know where you are with The Willows. Well, you always know where you are, in that The Willows is always going to supply some of the most joyously lush and pleasurable wines in your year’s drinking. But will it be the Shiraz or the Cabernet?”
