At the end of the old vine garden path at Dandelion Vineyards, there is a historic ‘Menagerie’ field blend of three grape varieties, adjoining blocks of Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro at Gomersal in the Barossa.

Deep red with youthful violet hues and a mild-purple to purple-red core, showing vibrancy and clarity. Expressive and inviting, the nose reveals an intriguing mix of wild cherries, raspberry sweets, and pink pepper. There are also developed fruit aromas with notes of leafy herbs, rose petals, and a hint of dusty blackberry bush, layered with earth, fennel, and sandalwood. Subtle traces of older French and American oak add gentle spice and vanilla complexity

The palate is lively and textured, offering flavours of wild cherry, blackberry, and plum, balanced by a hint of balsamic and spicy oak. Cherry pith, boiled lollies, and a touch of pastis/aniseed provide further depth. The wine is bone dry with a high level of natural acidity, giving drive and freshness, while fine, rounded tannins ensure a well-balanced structure. Peppercorn, mocha, and savoury herbs linger on the finish
