" a unique blend of Grenache, Tempranillo and Malbec grapes has resulted in an astounding red that's full-bodied yet silky and alluring." Matthew Jukes (Daily Mail)

"Turbo-charged Aussie reds love barbecues, so tuck into this bargain beef, cedar and leather-scented 14.5 per cent hulk." Jane MacQuitty (The Times)

The Fergus is a legend - first produced in 1993 from neighbour Fergus Mahon's Grenache vineyard. The 2016 Fergus continues the lineage, predominately Grenache, with support roles by tempranillo, and malbec, all combining to form a spicy, juicy wine with lifted red berry aromas and flavours, grenache spiciness and given extra back palate firmness provided by the blending of the other varieties. It's medium weighted and superbly crafted to be a fantastic food partner, especially duck, lamb and gamey meats. Fergus will cellar patiently through to 2026 and beyond.

Fergus musings

A powerful (14.4ABV) and unusual blend dominated by Grenache married with Temperanillo and Malbec, the 2018 Fergus is a fine example of the Clare winemaker’s art with red berry flavours and fine tannins. A very pleasant drink now, I’d give it another five years.

Fergus for me!

Tim Adams 'The Fergus' 2018 is an excellent full bodied wine.
Full of flavour, smooth & with hint of acidity, it brings a touch of summer to these winter evenings.
With prompt inclusive delivery it hits the spot on all fronts.

Fergus

Fantastic customer service and delivery time. The Fergus is a lovely fruity wine and drinking well now. I tried the Shiraz and that is also very good. I will certainly be trying some of the others from the Tim Adams website.
