Willunga 100 McLaren Vale Grenache 2022 14.5% 6x75cl

A vibrant, modern McLaren Vale Grenache, produced from old, dry-grown bush vines (average age ~50 years) from Blewitt Springs. It is awash with luscious red fruits, spice, and herbal complexity. Plush and juicy, yet structured and balanced, it’s both deliciously drinkable now and capable of rewarding short-term cellaring.

The colour is intense ruby red, vibrant and youthful in the glass. There are bright, lifted aromas of redcurrant, cherry, and raspberry, with underlying notes of earthy spice and liquorice. Subtle hints of cardamom, woody herbs, and a touch of floral add aromatic complexity.

The palate is generous and juicy, laden with red fruits—cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant—supported by fresh blood orange and a dusting of Chinese five spice. There’s a lively, mouthwatering vibrancy, with wild herbs and cracked pepper adding savoury depth. Fine-grained, silky tannins provide structure, while the wine’s medium body and balanced acidity keep it fresh and approachable through to a long, satisfying finish.
